All PriceWriter users can upload their
entire database directly into X-Margin
making migration to the new system
totally effortless.
All options created within PriceWriter
are also carried through. Once
loaded, you will be able to access
your data immediately from any PC,
anywhere that has an Internet
connection, including mobile devices.
Listed below are a few of the X-Margin users, these are stores of all sizes ranging from the smaller independent furniture retailer to one of the largest groups of stores
in the country. Many of these users have been subscribing to X-Margin for years, others have migrated across from the original PriceWriter system, which was also
written by the same author as X-Margin.

Select a supplier with 20 ranges, 100
items in each range. Set the margin to
42% across all ranges, then tweak the
top selling ranges to 40%. Then take
20% off of one range because it’s
stocked up the road in a competitors
store.
Round up every price after
calculating. If the price is over £1000
round up to nearest £50, ie. £2249,
£2299, £2349, £2399 etc.
If the price is under £1000 round it up
to the nearest £9 or £5 e.g. £549,
£555, £559, £565 etc
At the time of writing, X-Margin was
the only system capable of importing
the new style AIS supplier files with
the ability to match and marry them
against already loaded AIS files.
These are then instantly converted to
a file format for each of the back
office systems supported by
X-Margin.
This can save considerable time for
AIS members in inputting supplier
files or obtaining Excel spreadsheets
etc.
The X-Margin (XM) software family is a constantly evolving furniture margin controller and price manipulator
system. Often thought of as a stores ‘Master’ supplier catalogue that automatically feeds data to other in-store
systems like stock control, websites and many other In2Retail systems used by your staff and your customers.
All features are based upon the feedback from some of the UK’s largest and most successful furniture stores &
department stores. Features that instantly manipulate ‘Margin’ into some kind of event for your store, to change
prices across 100,000 product lines in minutes and to instantly pass all of this information to where it matters,
directly to your sales staff and optionally, directly and electronically to your customers.
Probably the most pro-active furniture promoter you will ever find.
X-Margin users enjoy the full freedom to use these systems and
these add-ons as an all inclusive subscription package. As more
and more system add-ons are developed, they are simply
included within the standard subscription at no extra cost.
Multiple branch stores simply pay an extra reduced subscription
fee per branch with any number of your staff having access to
these systems under your direct control. Systems designed
specifically for your sales staff, for price and margin controllers,
directors or simply everyone within your company.
The X-Margin family of systems is totally unique and does not
drop into any existing software category. It’s primary function is to
control margin across all product ranges to a level never seen
before, to feed all other systems with margin-exact product
information and to generate ‘Events’ for your store in a fraction of
the time usually taken.
A few typical tasks that you might carry
out using X-Margin along with an
estimated time to complete are listed
below.
This can be proven through a short
telephone demonstration where you
enter the figures and perform real
calculations and other ‘Live’ actions.
Set the entire store, 150.000 items, to
10% off. Advertise at least 10% off
everything for the whole day. Then
revert back to original prices after the
event.
Round down instead of up to satisfy
trading standards when claiming at
least 10% off, where rounding up
might only give 9.5% off.
Set every price to round down to
nearest £ or € to protect margin.
Receive several excel spreadsheets
from suppliers each with 2000+ items
in many different ranges listed as,
Range name, Model, Description,
Cost, MRP, Height, Width, Depth.
But this may be different with each
supplier.
Load these into X-Margin so that you
can immediately, calculate it, export it
to web or to stock system etc.
Time is for each complete file to load
into their respective separate ranges.
Receive a supplier DVD with 1,000
images on it where many are too large
for a website.
Rescale each image to 75px, 150px,
250px, 500px and send it directly to
your website retaining the original
folder structure so that they are stored
in a more managable way.
You do not need to stay with the
computer once this process has
started. Hit Upload and walk away.
Update your website prices after
changing them in X-Margin.
Example: Magento
Export changes to a file, upload file
with 2000 price changes with new
products included.
Also include, bullet points, lead times,
paragraph text and all image links.
Check achieved margin across the
entire store just before going live with
an ‘Event’.
Highlight all suppliers, ranges or items
that are below your acceptable
margin.
Check that all discounts are within
your advertising claims i.e. 10% really
is 10% and not 9.5%
Produce a picture price guide for each
range in your showroom so that your
browsing customers can see
immediately what else is available in
the range.
Time is for each price guide.
Produce price tickets for your
showroom that have a unique code
that can be scanned by your
customers mobile phone.
Arrange for your customer to see the
whole product range on their phone
with dimensions and optionally prices.
You do not need a website for this.
The mobile catalogue is automatically
generated. All you need to do is to
create the special tickets and window
banners.
After a great show at the NEC, any store wishing to find out
more should please contact us directly using the contact page.
A quick guided tour of the different systems can then be
performed over the telephone or through Skype.
